Every claim on this platform has a mechanism behind it
We are asking legal professionals to pay before delivery, on the strength of a discount we assert. That is a lot to ask, and the only reasonable answer is to show the working. This page is the working.
What a saving is measured against
Not a competitor's listing, not a marketplace price, not a figure somebody quoted us. A verified maximum retail price for that exact edition — the printed MRP, or the publisher's catalogue price where the item is not a printed book.
Recorded before the deal opens
With its source, the date it was captured, and the date it expires. Evidence that has lapsed cannot support a claim, and a deal relying on it will not open.
Two people, never one
Whoever records a price is not permitted to be the person who confirms it. This is enforced by the system, not by policy — the same account cannot do both.
No evidence, no claim
If an MRP cannot be verified, we do not publish a precise saving against it. The deal either opens without the claim or does not open.
Who has to agree before a deal goes live
Publishing a deal, locking a price and approving a refund above a threshold are all two-person actions. The person who proposes cannot be the person who approves.
This is ordinary in finance and unusual on a shopping site, and it is here for the same reason it exists in finance: the failure it prevents is not fraud so much as a single tired person at 11pm being the only thing between a mistake and a member.
A group deal also has to clear a minimum saving against the verified MRP before it can open. That floor is enforced by the database itself — a deal beneath it cannot be created and cannot be published, and the override that exists for internal margin decisions cannot reach below it.
A group deal priced above the floor
A deal whose price evidence has expired
A deal approved by the person who created it
A tier ladder where a later tier costs more
A price change after a member has committed
Not warnings. The write is rejected.
What happens to your money
Every movement is journaled and nothing is edited
The payment ledger is append-only, enforced by database triggers rather than by convention: a row, once written, cannot be updated or deleted by the application at all. A correction is a new entry that references the old one, so the history of what happened to your money survives the correction.
Amounts are held as whole paise. Nothing on this platform stores money as a decimal that can drift.
Refunds you do not have to chase
If a deal does not close, every token is refunded in full, automatically, to the method you paid with. You are not asked to apply, and there is no window you can miss.
Cancel inside the window shown on the deal page and the token comes back in full. Goods that arrive damaged, wrong or not as described are refunded in full including delivery, and we pay for the return.
We do not offer credit in place of a refund unless you ask for it.
Things this platform will not do
Stated plainly, because a promise that costs nothing to make is worth what it cost.
We will not count free interest as commitment
Following a deal is free and moves nothing. A tier is reached by paid reservations or it is not reached. Presenting one as the other would make every number on this site meaningless.
We will not inflate a reference price
The saving is measured against verified MRP with a source attached. Inventing a "was" price to make a "now" price look better is the oldest trick in retail and it is not available to us — the evidence record would not support it.
We will not raise a price after you commit
A price can only move down. Best Unlocked Price Protection means an early reserver gets any better tier the group unlocks, automatically.
We will not publish who asked for what
Knowing that a particular advocate is researching motor-accident claims is sensitive information about their practice. The demand board publishes a title and a count. No names, no cities, nothing below the visibility floor.
If we get it wrong
Complain and we acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within one month — the periods the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require. The clock runs from when you complain, not from when we get to it. If we do not put it right, you can go to the consumer commission where you live; nothing in our terms asks you to exhaust our process first.
