Editions, years and ISBNs
Last updated 25 August 2026
Edition, year of publication and ISBN are verified before a deal is published, and they are shown on the deal page.
This matters more in legal publishing than almost anywhere else. An older edition at a better price is not a better deal — it is the wrong book, and the person who bought it usually finds out at the point of citing it.
If you are replacing a copy you already own, check the edition on the deal page against yours rather than the title. Titles rarely change between editions; the content and the pagination do.
If a deal arrives and the edition is not what the page said, that is goods not as described: it is refunded in full including delivery, and we pay for the return.
